Where singles come
together in community

The Singles at VHUMC join together in classes and activities based on interests. Our diversity is reflected in the programs, fellowship opportunities, and missions outreach projects. The Mission Statement of the Singles is to SHARE CHRIST with others by learning the story, telling the story, and living the story.

Supper Clubs

Divorce Recovery Worshops
There are occasional weekend workshops for persons in the process of divorce or still adjusting to divorce. These help persons loosen the bonds that existed in marriage and set new goals for living as single adults. To find out about our next workshop and get registration information, click here.

Singles in Mission
The Singles are involved in a variety of outreach ministries. Here are a few:

Firehouse Shelter
The old downtown firehouse serves as a homeless shelter for men. On the second Friday of each month, we prepare and serve dinner at the Firehouse Shelter.

Habitat for Humanity
Habitat helps provide affordable housing for families. All kinds of volunteer skill levels are welcome, as we participate in helping build these houses.

Faith Singles Christmas Auction
Participants enjoy a catered dinner and bidding for donated items to help raise money for a local outreach ministry.

Festival of Three Kings
Several churches work together to provide a Christmas festival and gifts for families in need. We help with this in December.

Hospitality Network
Our church, along with other churches in the Birmingham area, host homeless families for one week several times each year. The program allows for families to be in our facility in the evenings only. The Singles provide dinner and spend the night one night of that week.
