a little more from Christine Reuss's Journal entry on Sunday, June 15...

We had a joint worship service on Sunday evening with 2 local churches: Iglesio Evangelica Metodista Emanuel and El Sembrador. Their pastor is Modesto, and he is great. The service was on the school grounds in a covered basketball court. We sang the wave song, where we all turn and wave to everyone while we sing "Bienvenidos" or "welcome"! After communion, we shared fruit and talked with everyone from the two churches, including Leonor and Ruth, who will be coming to stay with us in Vestavia. Cully, Chuch, and I walked back to the hotel with 3 little girls, who live in the same neighborhood. They asked us every question imaginable, from birthdays to eye color. When we got to the hotel, we went straight to bed to be ready to work in the morning.
